Grayish white to reddish crystal or pulp. Sodium m-aminobenzene sulfonate was obtained by sulfonation reaction of nitrobenzene and reduction. Used for the manufacture of azo dyes and pharmaceutical intermediates, reactive, acidic, sulfide and other dyes.
METANILIC ACID SODIUM SALT
英文 名 词: m-aminobenzenesulfonic ACID SODIUM SALT; SODIUM METANILATE.

Molecular weight: 195.1734
Appearance: Grayish white to light red crystal or slurry
White fine crystal. The decomposition temperature of crystal obtained from water is 302~304℃.
Metanilic acid has a grayish white to light red appearance as a crystalline or slurry
Total amino content, % ≥60
Content, % ≥90
Content of insoluble matter in soda, % ≤1.5
Uses: used in the manufacture of azo dyes and pharmaceutical intermediates, reactive, acid, sulfide and other dyes.
Production process route: the sulfonation reaction of nitrobenzene and fuming sulfuric acid is carried out at 115℃, and the reaction product is neutralized to neutral by liquid alkali, and then the sodium solution of m-nitrobenzene sulfonate is filtered. The solution was reduced with iron shavings as catalyst to get m-aminobenzene sulfonate, and the iron mud was removed by filtration. The filtrate was m-aminobenzene sulfonate salt solution. Add sulfuric acid to the acid extraction pot until Congo red test paper turns blue, and keep the temperature at 70℃. Then, the m-aminobenzene sulfonate slurry is obtained by centrifugation filtration.
Toxicity and protection: this product is highly toxic. Swallowing or absorption through the skin can cause severe poisoning. However, its toxicity is much less than aniline, and will not cause carcinogenic effect. During the production process, it should be strictly prevented from accidentally wearing or splashing the skin, the production equipment should be sealed to prevent leakage, and the operator should wear protective equipment.
Packing and storage: store in cool, ventilated and dry place, prevent heat, moisture and sun. Store and transport in accordance with the regulations on toxic substances.
